People who work or bask in the sun for many years without sunscreen protection, usually develop tough, leathery skin that can make them look 15-20 years older.
Sun exposure typically results in changes in skin texture, causing excessive wrinkles, skin thickening and weakens the skin'e elasticity.
The sun can also cause discolouration - red, yellow, grey or brown blotches, 'liver-spots', and grey scaly growths, called 'actinic keratoses' (which could develop into cancer).

- High processed goods, such as fast foods and take-aways. Stick to unprocessed foods, such as rice, cereals, wholegrain breads, fresh fruit and vegetables. Protein is essential too, so eat at least three or four servings of lean meat a week - or if you are a vegetarian, eat plenty of nuts, tofu and tempeh.
- Coffee, tea, cola drinks and alcohol, or anything containing artificial stimulants. These can act to increase the excretion of water and essential nutrients. Opt for herbal teas, mineral or filtered water, and unsweetened fruit juices.
- Stress, wherever possible, as it reflects in your whole body, not just your hair. Find time each day, even if it is for just 10 minutes, to relax and unwind.
Healthy Feet
Treat yourself ...
Begin by sitting down and treating your feet to a warm, soapy footpath to soften the hard skin.

- Dry feet thoroughly, paying special attention to the areas between the toes - damp skin is liable to crack and is prone to infections.
- Cut toenails straight across and not too short. Chopping corners will encourage ingrown toenails - simply file them if you have to.
- Remove hard skin to give young skin underneath nourishment.
- Massage upwards from toes to ankles, following the direction of the blood flow.
- Finally, for all day freshness, use talcum powder, a specialised foot powder or deodorant.
