HANDY HINTS TO SAVE YOU MONEY ...

NAILS - (Finger and Toe Nails)
  • To keep finger nails from splitting, add one tablespoon of baking power to warm water and soak nails for 15 minutes.
  • Use an old computer mouse-mat to place under your foot when you give yourself a pedicure.  No more drips on the carpet!
  • Mix equal parts of sugar, lemon juice and olive oil to clean stained fingernails.
  • If you don't have an emery board, use the side of a matchbox to file your broken nail.
NAILS - (Metal Nails)
To avoid hitting your fingers with your hammer, use a fork to hold the nail in position.  Place the nail between the tines of the fork and then hit it.
NAIL VARNISH
1.     Keep nail varnish in the refrigerator to keep it runny.
2.     Stand the bottle of nail varnish in an eggcup of warm water.  This will help the varnish flow
        more easily.
3.     Dot a small amount on the snags in your tights to stop a run, or to stop it running further.
NAIL VARNISH REMOVER
  • Add a few drops of caster oil to a bottle of pure acetone.
  • Rub nail varnish remover on office White Boards to remove permanent ink marker pen writing.
NAPPY RASH
Just a little Aloe Vera Gel on the skin will soothe and heal the rash.  It will soak into the skin quite quickly, so you don't have to wait too long to put on a fresh nappy.
NERVES
Bananas are high in B vitamins that help calm the nervous system.
NET CURTAINS
To avoid ironing net curtains, fold them and soak in hot soapy water.  Rinse (still folded) and hang out to dry.
NUTS and SEEDS
Nuts and seeds may be toasted in the microwave by microwaving on HIGH in a single layer.  Allow 5 minutes per 100g.  Stir during microwaving.
